our backgrounds in the proper manner. We can not be held responsible for any
mistakes made because of using this guide incorrectly.
We recommend using an aquarium type silicone adhesive to install your background and or rocks. For silicone directions and cure times, please refer to
the directions that come with the silicone product.
There are so many ways to set up your system that it is impossible to cover all of
them. There is nothing carved in stone here. Use your imagination and set it up
the way you want, with the equipment you have, using the set-ups we show as
a guide for the principles that make the system work. Have fun with it !!
Basic tools needed:
Measuring tape
Fine saw
sandpaper
marker
knife
hole saw (optional)
straight edge
silicone adhesive (aquarium approved)
plastic screen (black
Your equipment (filters, tubing,heaters,etc.)
Your Imagination !
Step 1: Measure and cut to size
Measure the inside of the back wall of the tank from side to side. Then take off 1/4" for expansion. Transfer that measurement to the top edge of your background and make a mark. Next measure
the distance from the mark to the end of the background. That will give you how much you need to cut off. Check your figures twice!
Now take your straight edge and lay it vertically on the face of the background, about the point where you will be cutting your background. Using your cut off measurement mark a point at the highest place your straight edge touches
